Darrin GreeneÂ
is the founder and lead trainer of On Command Dog Training, where he’s been helping dogs — and their humans — build better habits, stronger bonds, and safer lives together since 2011.
Darrin’s journey into dog training didn’t begin in a classroom — it began in a duck blind.

As a kid, he was captivated by Jack, a black Lab belonging to his dad’s best friend,
a hunting dog with such intelligence and discipline, it left a lasting impression.
Years later, when the time was right, Darrin got his first dog, Kyle — a Labrador retriever he trained using decades-old books and pure grit. From there, a hobby became a passion.
After seeking help with his dog Abby in 2004, Darrin was introduced to the world of AKC field trials and hunt tests. That inspiration led him to train and compete with his dog Ozzy, who earned a Master Hunter title — one of the highest honors in the sport.
Before launching his own business, Darrin formalized his training skills by working with K2 Solutions, a military contractor that trains dogs to detect remote IEDs for the U.S. Marine Corps.
That experience sharpened his techniques and gave him a deep understanding of canine behavior under pressure.

At On Command, Darrin uses a unique science backed and reward based training approach.
His philosophy is simple: address problem behaviors quickly and clearly, then teach dogs the skills they need to enjoy more freedom and independence — safely and reliably.
He named his company On Command because he believes a dog’s safety — and the owner's peace of mind — comes down to the dog’s consistent cooperation. Whether it’s coming when called or stopping on a dime, first-time cooperation can be life-saving. It also opens the door to real confidence and freedom, both at home and out in the world.
Clients work with Darrin because they want results.
But what they often gain is something more: confidence in themselves, clarity in their relationship with their dog, and the joy of finally doing the things they once thought impossible — going for a walk without pulling, enjoying a café patio, or hitting the trails with a dog who listens.

Outside of work, Darrin enjoys fishing and upland bird hunting with his family and dogs — especially Angus and their newest addition, Boone. He’s passionate about dogs, because they’re honest, consistent, and easy to understand — a refreshing contrast to the corporate world he left behind.
Ask his clients to describe him and they’ll say: Fair. Honest. Effective. — and their dogs would agree.
